My husband and I have lived in our house for over two years, and it was definitely time to update our blank and boring bedroom! As you can see from above, there is not much going on. I have had a vision for our bedroom since we moved in, but it takes a while to actually get it there. We took our first step this year with ordering our custom diamond tufted headboard from West Elm. In decorating a bedroom (or any room) I start by figuring out the feeling I want the room to have. For a master bedroom, I want a feeling of romance with out being overly feminine. Along with this I want to have touches of sophistication, glamour and natural elements. With this in mind I chose my modern, square tufted headboard in an ivory chunky basketweave to add a very natural material in contrast with the sophisticated dark side tables and the glitz of the crystal lamps. This is far from done, but at least it’s started!
~I used varying textures like velvet, fur and wool to add interest from the natural cotton headboard duvet. All pillows are from Target~
